T-Sisters

Rachel, Chloe and Erika Tietjen together form the trio called the T-Sisters. From a young age, these veritable siblings came together to create original tunes and write original dramatic works (www.amurmuredtale.com). They have recently begun performing with their father Ramsey Tietjen on electric jazz guitar.

Erika, Rachel and Chloe Tietjen were born and raised in the Bay Area, and after years of study in other climes (Massachusetts, Baltimore, Santa Cruz, and Russia) returned to Oakland where they now collaborate on music and musical theater in their beloved warehouse.

Chloe, the youngest of the three, uses her love of Greek mythology and proclivity for creative writing to shape the lyrics of the T-Sisters’ works. A Literature major from UC Santa Cruz, Chloe enjoys crafting verses imbued with mythology.  She is inspired especially by her favorite poet, Rainer Maria Rilke.  She sings soprano vocals, writes songs, and has begun to play the dulcimer.

Rachel, the middle sister, wields the power of physical creation. A graduate of MICA, Maryland Institute and College of Art, Rachel creates the theatrical landscapes and costumes when the T-Sisters are working on a musical theater production.  For their singing group, Rachel plays guitar, sings soprano and alto vocals, and writes songs.

Erika, the eldest sister, left Amherst College with a degree in Russian language and literature, and after a year’s jaunt in Saint Petersburg, Russia, came home to reunite and play music with her sisters.  Erika enjoys singing and bossing around her little sisters, as she has expertly done from a young age.  She arranges many of the T-Sisters’ vocal parts, sings alto vocals, plays guitar and writes songs.
