Ball Drop 2010

With nothing better to do on New Years day 2010 than to have an extravagant group craft, many willing participants set out to create a giant paper mache ball.

Using a giant yoga ball as a template, we paper mached over the ball in 2 pieces so that after several hours of drying we were able to remove the pieces from the ball, fill it with something *mysterious and exciting, then re-attach the pieces to seal it all in. It took the entire day to accomplish this great feat, after which point we carried out the ultimate goal of launching the giant ball off of the roof ceremoniously. Check it out!

*the mysterious substance in the ball happened to be more paper left over from the process as well as colored tissue paper, pretty exciting, eh?
